Advanced Mediation Advocacy

Advanced Mediation Advocacy is designed to follow and complement its companion title Effective Mediation Advocacy (see below), which has been published since 2005 in various editions and imprints in the United Kingdom, India, Hong Kong, Nigeria and Turkey, both for practitioners and students. This new volume is intended to provide highly pragmatic advice in 5 distinct sections:

- developing the role of the mediation advocate in specific tasks;
- dealing with common problems, including ethical dilemmas;
- developing a more sophisticated negotiation strategy;
- getting the best out of online mediation; and
- preparing for and engaging in cross-border, cross-cultural or
  multi-party international mediation.

Some of the content may be familiar to audiences in Singapore, Bangkok, Lagos, Delhi, Hong Kong, Prague, Istanbul and Cape Town for whom it was prepared for addresses by the author at mediation conferences and training programmes there. It is a personal view, born out of some 30 years mediation practice and consultancy in approaching 20 different jurisdictions. It is designed to provoke thought, stimulate debate and, as much as it can, normalize mediation in the minds of legal and other professional practitioners.
